Yin Guomao, Graduated from the Mechanical Department of Dalian University of Technology in 1953, is now a professor in the material and metallurgy school of Northeast University and used to be a senior engineer at the Chengdu Seamless Steel Pipe Factory.

Major Achievements

Yin Guomao has been engaged in the design, production, study and management of pipe rolling technology and equipments for a long time. When working for China's first automatic pipe rolling mill-Anshan Steel & Iron Company, he put forward and put into practice two new techniques-producing big diameter seamless tubes with the diameter-reducing method, and rolling with negative allowance control.

When working in Chengdu, he took technical responsibility for the construction of the first pilger mill in China; derived the mathematic equation of rolling capacity parameters of the 216-mm pilger mill based on testing; put forward and directed the construction of the first short-flow accu-roll mill and many other large-scale technical transformation projects and capital constructions; and involved in the development and research of many new techniques, steel types and equipments£®He has won the national,provincial and ministerial level awards for many times. For example, he won a third prize of the National Invention Award in 1983 for his "Wheel-type Continuous Tilter," and a second prize of the National Invention Award in 1985 for his "Heavy-duty Plastic Elastic Safety Coupling."

Yin Guomao was elected as the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.
