Soft-seat, hard-sleeper and soft-sleeper are choices for you. Soft-sleeper is more comfortable than the other choices even though you still need to share the 4-bed-cabin with others. You can choose to pay the 4 booths but only use 2.

Any train tickets need to be reserved at least 3 weeks prior the departure date.

Very crowded period of time:
- During the important Chinese festivals: the Spring Festival, Labour's Day and National Day;

-The beginning or the ending of the winter or summer vacation;

- Stops between important cities.

The arrival station is broadcast in Chinese at least 15 minutes prior to the estimated arrival time. Presently, very few trains provide English arrival broadcast. Therefore, if you don¡¯t have a guide with you, you need to pay attention so that you will get off at the right stop.

The stopping time at each station differs from station to station and from 3 minute to 15 minutes, but generally speaking, time is very tight for passangers get on and off the train. Please set aside enough time to prepare for getting on and off.

Toilets on the train are not quite clean and its space is around 1 square meter. Toilets will be closed before the train pulls in a station and reopened after the start-up.

Normally, no bathroom on any train in China. But, Western style washrooms and toilets can be found at both ends of each carriage.
