The Shenyang International Ice & Snow Festival, hosted jointly by the governments of Shenyang and Sapporo, Japan, takes place every January in this northeastern city. The month-long festival draws snow and ice sculptors from all over the world. Visitors will find themselves among more than 400 snow carvings and 200 ice sculptures. Other activities include Ice and Snow World in Huishan Scenic Spot, the Ice Lantern Garden Carnival, a flower exhibition, calligraphy, drawing and photo exhibition, and the Shenyang Yangko Competition.
